THE POETRY OF OUR LIVES
Some of us write poems. Some of us have been reading poetry since taking Prof. Alfred’s class on Old English Epic Poems. Almost all of us have a favorite poem, or two, that comforted us in the hard times or that we shared in the joyous times. As our lives have lengthened, many of us have found poems that connect to the complexities of our experiences. If you write poetry, bring one or two of your poems. If you have a favorite poem by someone else, please bring it to share. If you want to hear poems that connect with our lives, please join us. Our class has poets who have published books of poems, writers who have taken up writing poetry later in life, and many who are reading and listening to more poems. Walk-ons will be possible as time allows. This session of poetry will be emceed by Michael Ansara, co-founder of Mass Poetry and whose original work has recently been published in a number of obscure literary journals.
